Well, the good times couldn’t last forever.
After starting off the 2013-14 season red hot, the Portland Trail Blazers officially hit their first rough patch of the season with a 123-119 loss to the Kings in Sacramento on Monday.
The loss was Portland’s second in a row after losing Saturday night to the Sixers at home. The Trail Blazers, after starting the season 24-5, have now lost four of their last six games, with three of those losses coming against teams with losing records. Sacramento’s 138 points were the most scored by a Trail Blazers’ opponent this season.
“We’re getting teams’ best shot,” said Damian Lillard. “Teams are coming in and trying to take us out and we’ve got to do a better job embracing that. I think we have a confidence that, alright, they’re going to give us they best shot and we’re going to take care of it. We’ve got to have more passion about ourselves going into games knowing that teams want to take us out. We’ve got to go into the game wanting to show them.”
