I-84 east was closed Wednesday night, because of a massive rock slide west of Hood River.
The driver of a car narrowly missed being hit by the rocks.
Large boulders and debris slid across the eastbound lanes, pushing the concrete center barrier into the left westbound lane. The car's occupant was not injured.
About 2,000 cubic yards of rock fell onto the freeway. ODOT crews are working to remove it. The freeway can't reopen until the hillside is inspected.
I-84 east is closed in Troudale at Exit 17.
