Acting of a tip, Portland Police arrested Gary Lewis Thursday night walking on a street in Northeast Portland.
Lewis was wanted for the murder of 59-year-old Renee Sandidge-Crowell. Her remains were found earlier this week at Lewis' house.
Last Saturday, the Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Response Team had the house surrounded for 12 hours. When they entered the home Lewis wasn't there.
Police aren't saying why it took so long to find Sandidge-Crowell's remains.
Lewis will make his first court appearance Friday.
