Work on area bridges will disrupt traffic & TriMet

Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will be doing maintenance work on the Steel Bridge that will require complete closure of the bridge to auto, bus and MAX traffic this weekend and next. This will have a big effect on TriMet service, disrupting 300 MAX trips and 260 bus trips. The biggest impact will be during the morning commutes on Monday, February 17 and Monday, February 24. The closures were originally scheduled to begin last weekend but were delayed due to the extreme weather conditions.

Five bus lines detoured

Buses on lines 4, 8, 35, 44 will detour to the Burnside Bridge and bus line 77 will detour to the Broadway Bridge during the following times:
Saturday, Feb. 15 – Sunday, Feb. 16: 11:00 p.m. through 8:30 a.m.
Sunday, Feb. 16 – Monday, Feb. 17: 11:00 p.m. through 8:30 a.m.
Saturday, Feb. 22 – Sunday, Feb. 23: 11:00 p.m. through 8:30 a.m.
Sunday, Feb. 23 – Monday, Feb. 24: 11:00 p.m. through 8:30 a.m.

MAX service disrupted

MAX trains will be allowed to run across the bridge a little longer than other vehicles and will start back across the bridge slightly earlier. Here are the times MAX service will be disrupted:

Sunday, Feb. 16: 12:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m.
Monday, Feb. 17: 12:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m.
Sunday, Feb. 23: 12:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m.
